Aloha means hello, goodbye, love, peace, compassion and mercy- A perfect word for the many emotions a mom feels who has had too short a time with her baby. These photos are taken in Hawaii by Gabriel's aunt, and Aloha Remembered is a place for us to remember all our babies gone from us too soon.
A Parable of Immortality by Henry Van Dyke
I am standing upon the seashore.
A ship at my side spreads her white sails
to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength,
and I stand and watch until at last she hangs like a speck of white cloud
just where the sea and sky come down to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says, " There she goes! "
Gone where? Gone from my sight . . . that is all.
She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side
and just as able to bear her load of living freight to the place of destination.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her.
And just at the moment when someone at my side says,
" There she goes! " there are other eyes watching her coming . . .
and other voices ready to take up the glad shout . . .
" Here she comes! "

I was more than overjoyed at seeing my son's name witten on the beaches of Hawaii.He was truly a beach fanatic and this is so appropriate.He knew that I always wanted to visit Hawaii and told me someday soon he would take me there.Well I feel like I am there with him today.Thank you so much for this gift you have given me.I feel like he is saying Look Ma I made it!!! Forever grateful for this beautiful gesture Love to Jana and Gabriel's aunt what a wonderful idea.I am so sorry for the loss of your precious Gabriel.May he and my son Nicky be running along the sandiest whitest beaches in eternity Love Always
